Hurricane Dolly's slow moving deluge across the Lower Rio Grande Valley may well have been the death knoll for farmers in what has been an already difficult growing year.
Dumping between 7.5 and 25 inches of rain as she dragged slowly across the landscape and pounding crops with at least 20 hours worth of 70-80 mph winds, Dolly devastated the region's agricultural crops, both now and for the near future, farmers say.
