Statewide Teacher Conference
All educators are encouraged to attend Cultivating the Seeds of Knowledge, an education conference sponsored by Texas Farm Bureau, Texas Cooperative Extension and others, scheduled for May 1-4, 2002. Teachers from all grade levels may choose from a variety of workshops, including "Junior Master Gardner," "Insects in the Classroom," and "Ag in the Classroom," among others. The conference will also offer educational tours of food production facilities such as a Mrs. Baird's Bakery and Miller Brewery.

Conference participants will learn how technology has allowed American agriculturalists to produce the safest, most affordable food and fiber supply in the world, and how to integrate that knowledge across the curriculum. Teachers will receive a host of ideas and resources they can integrate into their lessons in science, social studies, math and language arts. Those attending will also receive Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits.

Administrators, curriculum directors, teachers, resource specialists, and anyone with an interest in education encouraged to attend.

The general schedule will be:
May 1: Check-in/Registration and evening banquet
May 2: Choice of concurrent workshops
May 3: Choice of field trips
May 4: Closing Breakfast

The conference will be held at the Omni Dallas hotel, Park West, I-635 and Luna Rd.
