Farmers from India visit Brazoria County farm

Brazoria-Galveston County Farm Bureau Director Curt Mowery, on June 29, treated a farm family from India to a tour of his farming operation near Rosharon.

Bageshwar and Nirmala Rai grow rice, wheat and sugar cane in India. The couple has been in the U.S. visiting their son, Pradeep Rai, who is completing his post-doctorate work in Chemical Engineering at Rice University. Eager to see an American farm, they traveled to the Mowery farm, where they toured grain sorghum, rice and soybean fields, and explored the combine and other machinery used in Mowery's operation.

The Rai family was very grateful to have the opportunity to visit the Mowerys' farm and view, firsthand, crops grown under various different American techniques.
