DeWitt County is one of the top agricultural counties in Texas in beef cattle and pecan production and is the Wildflower and Turkeyfest Capital of the World. Pictured

building as the Chisholm Trail Heritage Museum.

The inspiration for the purchase and installation of the flag is the sacrifice, heroism and determination of our United States of America servicemen and women, during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. (See the list at http://www.iraqwarheroes.com/)An aluminum container with the names of all involved in the flagpole erection was placed in the flag pole base. After the flag pole was erected, we thanked God for the privilege of being Americans, for our troops, their families and their sacrifice for our great nation. A memorial rock base and plaque will be installed prior to the dedication ceremony.

The momentum of freedom in our world is unmistakable–and it is not carried forward by our power alone. We can trust in that greater power Who guides the unfolding of the years. And in all that is to come, we can know that His purposes are just and true
George W. Bush

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.
George S. Patton

DeWitt CFB recognized for continuous gain... 59 years' worth!

DCFB was recognized at the 90th AFBF Convention in San Antonio by Kenneth Dierschke for 59 years of continuous growth.  Representing our district and county were District 12 Director Arthur Bluntzer and his wife Jeanette, DCFB Board Members Judy Fisher and Roy Zengerle, DCFB Vice President Wayne Wolf, DCFB President Tom Batts and DCFB Treasurer Wes Dukes. DCFB was also recognized by AFBF President Bob Stallman at the President's Luncheon.  After recognizing DCFB, President Stallman asked for a show of hands of others with this record. He related there were no indications and that DCFB was apparently the Farm Bureau with the most years of continuous growth. DCFB was also recognized at TFB's 75th annual convention.
