Montgomery County Fair
March 23 - April 1, 2007

The Montgomery County Fair was held March 23- April 1.  Two days were dedicated "Kid's Days" (March 26-27) where almost 1,000 pre-K through 4th grade students from around the county came to the fair. The Mobile Learning Barn was set up and the Montgomery County FB sponsored pencils for goodie bags for all students.  FFA and 4-H students volunteered as tour guides to guide elementary groups through exhibits.

 

Lone Star Elementary Ag Day

The Lone Star Elementary Ag Day was held Monday, April 23 and is the first to be held in the county.  All third and fourth graders at this campus came out and saw a milking demonstration by the Southwest Dairy Museum, a horse brought by Mike Heimer with Texas Cooperative Extension, a stagecoach by Wells Fargo, fitness and nutrition station by Christie Sproba with Curves, a nutrition station by 4-H agents with the Texas Cooperative Extension, the Mobile Learning Barn station talking about corn, rice, and wheat, a beef station with scholarship recipient Dalin Woolery and her show heifer, and the cotton station with Montgomery CFB President Stuart Traylor running the miniature gin.  All teachers received a teacher bag sponsored by the MCFB.  Congressman Kevin Brady also attended this event.
