Polk County Farm Bureau
Board and Staff

Polk County Farm Bureau was chartered June 15, 1952. The county board has worked hard to preserve the rural life style and protect the interests of family farms while supporting community and youth activities. Polk County is bordered by the Trinity River to the South and West and the Neches River to the North, with the National Forest to the East. Polk County is known for the most timber of any of the Texas counties.

The Polk County Board is made up of 10 directors. Three directors serve as the Executive Committee. The County also has two lifetime directors appointed to serve in an ex-officio capacity based on the tenure they have demonstrated through the years.

William “Bill” Bergman, President – Board member for seven years and second term as president. Bill is the owner of Polk County Tractor in Livingston. He is a hay and cattle producer and believes in what the Farm Bureau mission is towards agriculture and is promoting the County Farm Bureau in the community.

Joseph “Joe Dan” Crawford, Vice President – Five-year director and owner of Texas Glass. He is a hay and cattle producer and is active in the Leggett FFA.

George Harrell, Secretary-Treasurer – George is a long-time director and past president. George served the board as president in 1982, and has held many posts and committee positions since. George is a self-proclaimed East Texas businessman working in land preparation, logging and personal farm operations.

David Burns, Director – Local businessman and farmer. David operates a hay and cattle operation on the East side of the county.

Allan Eggleston, Director – Local rancher and Llama farm operator. Lone Star Llamas has been an attraction at the county “Ag Day” since its inception seven years ago. Allan is a past president and an active committee member for policy development.

Dave Harrel, Director – Retired. Dave currently serves on the Legislative Committee.

Marty Lowe, Director – Rancher and owner of Loco Feed Mill. Marty is involved in Youth Activities and developed the County Breeders Competition.

Mack Ross, Director – Local ranch foreman. Mack is currently very active in the Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee.

Jay V. Snook, Jr., Director – Hay and cattle producer and former president of the Polk County Farm Bureau. Jay currently serves as the State Director for District 9.

David Wilson, Director – Retired District Court Judge, Angelina County. In 2006, David moved to Polk County and operates a 450-acre cattle and hay ranch outside of Moscow. His heritage has his father operating a feed mill and a produce market in Bell County.
