Polk County Farm Bureau Local Breeders Competition

The Polk County Farm Bureau, in an effort to bring increased attention to the local breeders of livestock and those competitors who choose to buy their project animals from a Polk County breeder, have established the Local Breeders Competition.

The competition pays a cash prize to the first three places of contestants who purchased an animal breed in Polk County. The Polk County Farm Bureau is the sponsor of the program being financed through donations. This youth activity helps promote agriculture through the show and exhibition of livestock and gives the local breeders a more visible place in the Trinity-Neches Show and Sale.

Since the six prize places–three for heifers and three for steers–are such an attractive monetary benefit, it is necessary to solicit contributions to maintain and hopefully expand the offerings to our Polk County Exhibitors from Polk County Breeders.

Currently, all contributions in any denomination are being accepted. The more we collect, the larger the prizes and the more places that can be sponsored. All of the money collected will be maintained in a separate general fund to accumulate for distribution at the 2009 Trinity-Neches Show and Sale.

Please note that contributions and/or gifts to POLK COUNTY FARM BUREAU are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes.
