Waller County Farm Bureau's mission is to be the state's most effective membership organization committed to the advancement of agriculture and prosperity for rural Texas; and, to provide our members with a wide range of involvement programs, cost-effective services, and an attractive benefit package.

Waller County Farm Bureau (WCFB) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental, voluntary organization of farm and ranch families and friends of agriculture united in promotion of agriculture. Waller County Farm Bureau is in District 11 of the Texas Farm Bureau.

The purpose of the Waller County Farm Bureau is to better the conditions and efficiency of agricultural producers and promote a wholesome, desirable life through education, information and other such programs related to agriculture and in accordance with Section 501 (c) (5) of the Internal Revenue Code and the Texas Non-Profit Corporation Act of 1959 as amended.

All persons who are interested in and support the purpose of the WCFB organization are eligible for membership. Dues of $40 per year provide membership in Waller County Farm Bureau, the Texas Farm Bureau, and the American Farm Bureau Federation. You may fill out a membership application and mail it to the Waller County Farm Bureau office, P.O. Box 507, Waller, TX 77484.

Waller and Harris County Farm Bureaus jointly hosted a barbecue dinner during the Cattle Marketing Seminar held at the Hockley Livestock Auction Barn. Speakers for the meeting were Bryce Myrick and an order buyer from Brazos County. 

 

Texas Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Federation

Farm Bureau is an independent organization of farm and ranch families who have joined to solve problems through united action. The Farm Bureau is totally controlled by its members through majority decision and is financed through voluntary dues.

The Texas Farm Bureau has more than 390,000 member families in 207 organized counties. It is affiliated with the American Farm Bureau Federation, which has a membership in excess of 6 million member families in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. Policies that guide the organization originate at the grassroots level with each member given an opportunity to participate. Policies are adopted after discussion and exchange of ideas at county, state, and national conventions.

Farm Bureau is active in Austin and Washington representing the rural community not only on agriculture issues but also on taxes, education and government.

• Preserve agriculture sales tax exemptions

• Preserve ag use valuation of farm & ranch land

• Ensure property rights

• Reform inheritance tax

• Reduce ad valorem tax burden

• Protect agricultural water rights

• Balance the federal budget
