Farm Bureau Connection
offers rate reduction
Farm Bureau Connection, Farm Bureau’s long distance telephone service for members, recently announced another rate reduction. Effective July 1, 2000, rates for all services were reduced for the third straight year. In fact, this is the second reduction for inter-state calls since January of this year.

Rate reductions are automatic for Farm Bureau Connection subscribers. All current subscribers will receive notice in their next statement.

“The two key features members like best are the six-second billing increments and the straightforward pricing. FBC rates are the same regardless of the time of day or the day of the week. Plus there are no minimum call lengths—you pay for only what you use,” said Roger Jenkins, director of services development for the Texas Farm Bureau Building Corporation.

Another area where the program has improved is with the “800” Long Distance Around service.

“This is for members where we do not currently have access lines due to the high access fees charged by cooperative and community telephone companies,” Jenkins explained. “Our rates are now better than any offered in most of these areas, providing savings for Texas Farm Bureau members in these areas.”
