Youth winners named

 

Sixteen-year-old Kerri Schneider (right) of Guadalupe County was named winner of the Free Enterprise Speech Contest, and received a $4,000 scholarship. Schneider, a junior at Marion High School, is the daughter of Randy and Nancy Schneider of Marion. Runner-up and winner of a $2,500 scholarship was Lauren Smith, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ray Smith of Kerrville. Smith is a junior at Tivey High School in Kerrville.

Winning the Miss TFB crown, a $2,000 scholarship, and a $500 wardrobe of natural fibers was 18-year-old Jade Lusk (right) of Nocona. She is the daughter of John Lusk and Karen Killion of Nocona and Jodi and Jim Warren of Washington state. Runner-up and winner of a $1,500 scholarship was Sarah Floerke, 17, of Lampasas County. Floerke is the daughter of Benton and Linda Floerke of Lampasas.

Eighteen-year-old Abigail Wilks of Deaf Smith County (right) won the Texas Farm Bureau Talent Find competition and a $2,000 scholarship. Wilks is the daughter of Andrew and Janice Wilks of Hereford. Aaron Jackson, 16, son of Jonathan and Shelly Jackson of Quitman, was named runner-up and winner of a $1,500 scholarship.
