Marable named as
TFB general counsel

 

Paul D. Marable III has been named general counsel for Texas Farm Bureau and its affiliated companies, according to Vernie R. Glasson, executive director of the state's largest farm organization. Marable has represented TFB and its affiliates as outside corporate counsel through the Waco law firm of Fulbright, Winniford & Marable since 1974.

"Texas Farm Bureau is extremely pleased and proud with the addition of Paul Marable to the position of general counsel," Glasson said. "We have worked with Paul for many years and know the quality of his work. We are confident he will be a tremendous asset to Texas Farm Bureau and affiliated companies."

Marable earned his BBA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1971, his jurisprudence degree from Baylor University, Waco, in 1974, and was licensed by the State Bar of Texas in May, 1974. Marable has been a shareholder with the Waco law firm of Fulbright, Winniford & Marable, practicing in the area of wills, estate planning and probate, corporate, transaction and general business law.

Marable is a past president of the Waco-McLennan County Young Lawyer's Association and Waco-McLennan County Lawyer's Association and a former director and secretary of the Texas Young Lawyers Association. Currently, he is a member of the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association and the Waco-McLennan County Estate Planning Council. Marable is a frequent speaker at local estate planning seminars.

The new TFB general counsel is active in community affairs, having served as past director of Huaco Council of Campfire, Family Counseling and Childrens Services, Waco Business league, Waco Chamber of Commerce, and Waco-McLennan County Dispute Resolution Center. Marable has also served as a Waco ISD volunteer partner, participating with first-grade students at Dean Highland Elementary. Marable is a member of the Waco ISD Alumni Association, the Waco Chamber of Commerce and is a member and past president of the Waco Founder Lions Club.

He is also an active member of the First Methodist Church and a past chair of its Board and Finance Committee and FUMC Foundation.

Marable is married to the former Debbie Lillard. They have five children: Brandon, Carey, Jenny, Blake and John; and a granddaughter, Ashton.
