Three Great Contests

Jerry Moody of Mt. Pleasant (left) was named winner of Texas Farm Bureau's Outstanding Young Farmer & Rancher Contest. Moody, his wife, Deanna and two children run a poultry and cattle operation in Titus County in Northeast Texas. Named runners-up in the contest were Ray Chisum of Jayton and Brian Jones of Edcouch. Presenting the award is TFB Executive Director Vernie Glasson.

Darren Turley of Erath County (right) was named winner of Texas Farm Bureau's Excellence in Agriculture Award. Turley partners with his parents in a small dairy and works off the farm for Cargill Animal Nutrition. Named runners-up in the contest were DeWayne Burnes of Johnson County and Bryan Davis of Hays County. Presenting the award is Texas Farm Bureau President Donald Patman.

Chad Hobbs, a rancher from McLennan County, was named winner of the Discussion Meet. Other finalists included Darren Turley of Erath County, DeWayne Burns of Johnson County, and Troy Nedbalek of San Patricio County.
