The TFB Voice of Texas Agriculture web site rolled out a new look on March 1. The new design is intended to make information easier to locate and use, and is part of an ongoing effort to get information to Farm Bureau members, teachers, the media and the general public as quickly as possible. "Our site is very content rich, to use the Internet lingo," says Linda Andrews, Farm Bureau's webmaster and online news editor. "We have a lot of information divided into numerous categories, and now it is better organized with drop-down menus, enhanced search functions and a more pleasing overall look." Andrews says the revamped Voice of Texas Agriculture will pave the way for new features, including "kid friendly" farm-related activities. Ideas generated from members and staff will be incorporated as well. "Also, Farm Bureau members will be able to find out about important meetings and locate information pertaining to their commodities. Members can sign up for e-mail notification of important legislative issues and a variety of TFB online newsletters," Andrews says. A special section on Planet Agriculture, TFB's state-of-the-art fair exhibit that travels the state promoting agriculture, is located on the site. A schedule of the exhibit's events, as well as educational materials, is included. Other ag educational material is available in the Agriculture in the Classroom section. Youth activities and scholarships, Young Farmer & Rancher activities, a list of the many membership benefits and much more are just a mouse click away. Members are encouraged to visit the site to see the many activities being undertaken by the state's largest farm organization. The TFB Voice of Texas Agriculture site may be found at www.txfb.org. |
