Texas Farm Bureau's
Photo Contest Winners
It get's tougher every year. Talented Farm Bureau members see
a different world through their camera lens, and the results were a bushel
of great pictures. Every picture entered was a winner, but taking home
the prize money were:

1st PlaceLori Falcon took this picture of her son, Tyler,
putting on his spurs at the Old Farm Camp on the Fulton Quien Sabe Ranch.
Mom says Tyler, in his words, was "gonna ride the rough off him!"

2nd PlaceJill Bramlet, age 11, of Lockney, took this picture
of her dad and brotherwith lunchbox and water jug in handas they
go off for a day of plowing.

Honorable Mention: We've heard of the Cat in the Hat, but
Cat in the Mailbox? This photo submitted by Debra Evans of Gustine featured
her cat, Bun E., posing on a mailbox decorated by a member of her church.

Honorable Mention: Debbie Hubenak of Rosenberg photographed
this still life of flowers and wagon wheel.
Just Good Pictures!
There's no prize money awarded but we wanted to recognize
a number of other excellent photos from Texas Farm Bureau members. This
is just a small sample of efforts from many talented photographers.

the January Texas Agriculture.

Cathi Gillette of Crockett took this picture of daughter Dorcie and her "birthday
puppy" on the porch of one of the houses on the family ranch at Lovelady.
The human kid, Samantha Smith, dances with an orphan goat kid, Annie, in this

This "rootin'-tootin' three-and-a-half year old cowboy from Cost prepares
for a long day's work on the range, in this photo submitted by Mr. and Mrs.
Lowell Johnson.
If a bird in hand is worth two in the bush,
are two birds in hand worth four in the bush? Granddaughter Jourdan Taylor
Mead demonstrates that concept in this photo submitted by grandma and grandpa,
Glenn and Charlene McCarty of China Grove.

Uncle Danny Evans passes on a ranching legacy to his nephew, Tyler Evans,
as they eartag a calf on this fifth generation ranch in Howard County. The
photo was submitted by Lanell Overton Evans of Big Spring.
