USDA has announced it is making $325 million in loans and grants available to rural communities to strengthen distance learning and tele-medicine programs that serve rural America. "Rural Texas communities can benefit from the opportunities provided by the distance learning and tele-medicine programs. These programs are among many that USDA Rural Development can utilize in our on-going commitment to the future of rural communities," said Texas State Director Bryan Daniel. Applications for $15 million in grants must be submitted by April 30, 2004 and will be scored and awarded on a competitive basis. Applications for the grant/loan combinations and loans can be submitted through out the fiscal year. See http://www.rurdev.usda.gov for information. |
