The National Cattlemen's Foundation (NCF) and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) are proud to announce the 2006 Beef Industry Scholarship program.
The Beef Industry Scholarship is a collaborative project between the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the National Cattlemen's Foundation introduced in 1989 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Live Cattle Futures Contracts. The CME has been a leader in the live cattle market since 1964 and the Beef Industry Scholarship Program exemplifies CME's commitment to the beef industry.
Twenty scholarships of $1500 will be awarded in 2006 to outstanding students who are pursuing careers in the beef industry. Fields of study may include: education, communications, production, research or any other area involved with the beef industry. The purpose of this program is to identify and encourage talented and thoughtful students who will emerge as industry leaders. The first place winner will also receive air fare and lodging to attend the 2006 Annual Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show in Denver, Colo., Feb. 1-4, 2006. There is no cash value substitute for the award/trip.
