For the second year in a row Texas Farm Bureau's annual photo contest will accept digital photos. "We had many high quality, digital photos entered last year," said Texas Agriculture Editor Mike Barnett. "The popularity of digital photography continues to grow, so we're making it easy for members to email in their photos. Of course, print photos remain part of the contest." There are some minimum requirements for digital entries. Set your digital camera to a minimum of 1024 X 768 pixels or higher. This year, four winners will be announced in the July editions of Texas Neighbors and Texas Agriculture. First place will be awarded a $100 cash prize. Second place will receive $50. And two honorable mentions will receive $25 each. As always, rural settings and rural lifestyles are preferred settings for entries. To enter, follow these simple rules: Both digital (requirements previously explained) and print photos will be accepted. Both color and black-and-white photos will be considered but will compete against each other. Only one entry per person. Include a brief description regarding the entry, plus the participant's name, address and telephone number in case additional information is needed. Make sure permission has been granted for use of the photo submitted. Rural settings are preferred. Deadline for having photo entries in the Texas Farm Bureau office is Thursday, June 1, 2006. A stamped, self-addressed envelope needs to accompany your print photo entry if you want your photograph returned. Digital entries should be emailed to photocontest@txfb.org. Send print entries to Photo Contest, TFB Public Relations Division, P.O. Box 2689, Waco, TX 76702-2689. |
