Some 17 winners of four different scholarships have been announced by the Texas Farm Bureau.
Texas Farm Bureau invests large amounts of money and time in developing youth leadership. Annually, scholarships totaling almost $80,000 are awarded to students who participate in our youth contests, various youth leadership organizations or apply for several other scholarships that are made available.
Winner of the $1,000 Dick Mitchell Memorial Scholarship was Krista Jean Stubblefield, daughter of Robert and Melody Stubblefield of Colorado City.
Winners of the $4,000 Texas Farm Bureau Agriculture Research and Education Foundation (AR&E) scholarships were: Tara Beth Moore, daughter of Steve and Renee Moore of Roscoe; and Brant Alan Wilbourn, son of Mary Ann Wilbourn and the late Jerry Wilbourn of Abbott.
Winners of the $1,000 Young Farmer & Rancher Scholarships for Enrolled College Agriculture Students were: Matthew Lee Brewer, son of Steve and Barbara Brewer of Lawn; and Jessup Clayton Yeaman, son of Jeffrey and Melania Yeaman of Rocksprings.
Winners of the $1,000 Young Farmer & Rancher scholarships included: Aaron Michael Franks, son of Michael and Barbara Franks of Hereford; Chase Gandy Dunn, son of Stacey and Michelle Dunn of Bledsoe; Meagan Marie Womack, daughter of Rondal and Tamra Womack of Bridgeport; Cheyenne Caye Motley, daughter of Damon and Dawn Motley of VanAlstyne; Candace Ann Vanwinkle, daughter of Robert and Joyce Vanwinkle of Sulphur Springs; Mackenzie Michelle Gregory, daughter of Mitchell and Roxanne Gregory of Lamesa; Whitney JaNay McMillan, daughter of Brent and Renea McMillan of Coleman; Henry Odom Herrmann, son of Carl and Leslie Herrmann of Caldwell; Brandi Nicole Bolton, daughter of Mark and Tina Bolton of Palestine; Ashton J. Teal, daughter of James and Sheri Teal of Tilden; William Tyler Treptow, son of Bill and Liz Treptow of Hallettsville; and Carolyn Elizabeth Thelen, daughter of Keith and Janet Thelan of Adkins.
In addition, many county Farm Bureaus also offer scholarships to youth within their county. Annually, more than $100,000 in scholarships is given through county Farm Bureaus.
