Youth Activities
Youth Leadership Conference
Each year, Fayette County Farm Bureau sponsors one or more students from
local
high schools to attend the Texas Farm Bureau Youth Leadership Conference
(formerly the TFB Citizenship Seminar). They
join other
high school juniors and
seniors from more than 150 counties across the
state. The purpose of the seminar is
to provide the students with a better
understanding of
their American heritage and the capitalistic free enterprise system.
Ag
Day
Fayette County Farm Bureau sponsors "Ag Day" to acquaint youth
with the
importance of agriculture. Fourth graders from seven schools in the local
areas attend. The event is held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds. The
program begins at 9 a.m.
and ends at 2:30 p.m. There are various stations set up to educate the
youngsters
about agriculture in Fayette County and Texas. View photos of this year's Ag Day.
Scholarships
Fayette County Farm Bureau offers scholarships to graduating students
from the Schulenburg, Flatonia, La Grange, Fayetteville, and Round Top-Carmine
high schools. These Farm Bureau locals offer scholarships as well: La
Grange, Round Top-Carmine and Warda.
