Houston County Farm Bureau...
The Houston County Farm Bureau was first organized in
1940 with Fran Taylor as president. The dues were $5 and there
were approximately 100 members. C.J. Ivins was president in 1941-1942.
The Farm Bureau was not active during the war and was reorganized in
1950 with D.F. Youngblood as president.

Charter Directors were T.E. Dawson, E.L. Eakin, J.R. Rials,
Gus Merriweather, George Kuykendall, J.F. Creath, and Pete Huff.
The Farm Bureau office was located in the courthouse until
1960.
Subsequent moves were made to Driskell Farm Supply Building and then Berry
Julian Building on the corner of Bell and South 4th. We moved into
our new building on November 1, 1973, located on 300 W. Cedar just off Highway
21 West. The Grand Opening of the new building was held on March 20, 1974.
