Purchases/Donations for Youth Causes
Besides scholarships and youth contests, Houston County Farm Bureau also:

Sponsored a "Cabbage Patch" for third grade students in Grapeland.  Bonnie Plant Farm donated the plants through their Cabbage Program (bonnieplants.com) and HCFB volunteered labor to create garden and helped students plant and care for the cabbages.  At the end of the growing period, HCFB sponsored an ice cream party for the class and the student with the biggest cabbage received a prize.

Donated book covers to all the schools in the county.

Donated Ag In The Classroom Curriculum to schools that requested the information.

Purchased projects at the Houston County Fair and at the Lovelady Steer Show.
