Food Check-Out Day is a celebration of the bounty from America's farms and
ranches and how that bounty is shared with American consumers through affordable
food prices. This year, when applied to calendar days, the average
American
will have earned enough income to pay for his or her family's annual food
supply in just 36 days.
During the past 8 years, Calhoun County Farm Bureau has presented a donation
to the Calhoun County Food Pantry and the Helping Hands Association.
Legislative
We want our members to know what is happening with Texas
Farm Bureau's top priority issues. Legislative
news is available.
Leader Day in Austin is approaching and we will send two or three directors.
Youth
Activities
Calhoun County Farm Bureau is very involved in youth activities.
We know that these children are our future. Visit
our page which details the many opportunities we provide for youth in our
county.
We host a Fourth Grade Ag Day for Kids, donate to the Youth Rodeo Association, and donate to High School "Project Graduation."
Volunteer
Firemen Training
In July, the Firemen's Training School is held and we pay expenses
for a fireman to attend this school, held at Texas A&M University.
Farm Bureau believes
volunteer fire departments have been very effective in reducing the amount
of loss incurred by fire in rural areas.
