Governor grants waiver for those hauling hay to disaster areas
Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Gov. Rick Perry has granted a waiver of oversize/overweight permit requirements and fees for truckers involved in emergency relief efforts tied to the recent wildfires across North Texas.

Barring an extension of the policy, the current waiver is in place until May 29.

Late last month, fires swept several North Texas counties, destroying hundreds of thousands of acres, several homes and outbuildings, as well as claiming three lives and scores of livestock.
